For Clinicians

NEBA is a biologically-based ADHD assessment aid standardized for use as one part of a full psychiatric workup.

NEBA is straightforward to use. A simple report, easy for parents to understand, supports your ADHD evaluation process.

NEBA provides unique and useful information. The NEBA Report presents an EEG measure of neural activity. Clinically validated cutoffs are provided with confidence intervals that are specific to NEBA. NEBA is not to be used as a stand-alone diagnostic for ADHD. Interpretation of the NEBA measure helps you to decide whether ADHD is more likely to be the primary diagnosis or more likely to be secondary to another disorder or condition. Ultimately, the clinician uses NEBA as “confirmatory support” for a completed clinical evaluation or as support to pursue “further testing” following a clinical evaluation.

NEBA is accurate. An ADHD patient with a NEBA result of "confirmatory support" is likely to have ADHD as primary diagnosis (positive predictive value = 94% per the intended use). An ADHD patient with a NEBA result of "further testing" is likely to have complications that might lead the clinician to exclude ADHD from primary diagnosis (negative predictive value = 80% per the intended use; 9 significant odds ratio results for complications).

NEBA is reliable. The NEBA measure can be reliably determined in children and adolescents ages 6-17 years with attention and behavior problems (intraclass correlation coefficient = 0.83).

NEBA is simple. Data is quickly collected in your office. Existing or new staff is easily trained in your office; there is no need for travel. The hardware is small format, portable throughout the office, and relatively inexpensive.
